Everest (8,848 m.), the highest peaks in the world has been one of the ultimate destinations for the travelers from across the world. It is located in Solukhumbu district at Nepal and Tibet. Mt. Everest famously is known as Sagarmatha in Nepal while known as ‘Chomolungma’ in Tibet. Sagarmath was named Mt. Everest in 1865 in the honor of Sir George Everest, the British surveyor General who had surveyed the height of Mt. Everest in between 1790 to 1866. According to the record, Sir Edmund Hillary from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay from Nepal for the first time made successful expedition to this highest peak on May 29, 1953, ever since Everest expedition has been one of the most popular and talked around the world. According to the record, nearly 2,000 people from the world have so far made successful summit to Mt. Everest. Every year, a number of travelers make it to Mt. Everest. Everest expedition begins with a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and the trail continues through Namchhe Bazaar and finally to Everest base camp and after making an expedition you will return back to Kathmandu through same route.
